Use the midfielders role brief before comparing reported ability. The reference sample supplies discovery evidence, not a complete player report.

Write a midfielders recruitment brief
Midfield recruitment starts with the connection that is missing. You may need someone to protect central space, receive under pressure, progress the ball or support the attack. Those are different questions, even when several candidates share an MC or DM position code. Keep the brief narrow enough that a report can actually answer it.
This view covers the young midfield-position records in the published reference snapshot. Some candidates have additional defensive or advanced positions and can appear in other role views. Their source values do not change between views. A potential band is kept intact, and a source club is not silently replaced with a live real-world transfer.
| Responsibility | Evidence to collect |
|---|---|
| Holding | Central protection, availability behind the ball |
| Connecting | Receiving angle, passing outlets and decision evidence |
| Supporting runs | A staggered movement with explicit cover |
| Advanced creation | Access between lines and support around the striker |
Read the role evidence in context
For a holding task, inspect who stays available behind the ball and which opponent can receive if possession is lost. A passer who constantly advances may leave that responsibility uncovered. Compare the actual positioning and decision-making evidence in your report before deciding that a candidate can combine protection with a more adventurous movement.
For a connecting or advanced task, examine the next receiving option and the space occupied by the striker or winger. A central creator cannot improve a passing route that never reaches them. Use the midfield triangle and the available support as context, rather than assuming that a higher reported CA solves every progression problem.
Do not recruit the same vacancy twice
Two players who both want the same receiving space can make a midfield less connected. Compare each candidate with the existing squad’s responsibilities before deciding that an additional creator is the priority.
Keep the pathway and data limits visible
Several records have reported PA bands rather than fixed values. Sort the lower bound for a more conservative reference comparison or choose the ceiling explicitly when you want to examine the widest reported possibility. Do not rewrite the upper endpoint as a fixed value in your notes or use it to promise a particular future role.
A young midfielder also needs a realistic set of responsibilities to learn and opportunities to perform them. Keep individual development connected to that task while team preparation addresses shared understanding. Before making an offer, check the current contract and the playing pathway; the sample contains no verified wage, fee or physical workload numbers.

CA/PA use the reported 1–200 scale. A PA band must fit entirely within your minimum and maximum; lower-bound and ceiling sorting are separate choices. Unknown values are excluded by numeric filters. FC is the source code for central forward.
